Here is the first design delivered by my brother/architect and his team for our house project. It was a foundation for discussion and proved to be a great tool for moving the design process forward very quickly. There were a lot of elements that we loved from the beginning, and the architecture team was quick to begin implementing changes based on our feedback. This part of the process was a ton of fun!

The biggest change we made at this point was probably to change the orientation and shape of the home. We were drawing inspiration from the shape of barns, and I like the look of the gable side of the barn more than the broad side (maybe it’s because I’m worried people will want to try to prove they can hit the broad side of the barn). In future posts, I’ll show how this decision created some fun architectural elements.
